GRAPHING & WRITING LINEAR EQUATIONS WORD PROBLEMS with Graphic Organizer
Get your students successfully GRAPHING & WRITING LINEAR EQUATIONS with these PROBLEM SOLVING GRAPHIC ORGANIZERS.
Benefits of Problem Solving Graphic Organizers:
Problems solving graphic organizers help students organize and clarify their thoughts, infer solutions to problems, and communicate their thinking strategies.
What is Included:
This resource includes 10 problems solving graphic organizers with real-world LINEAR EQUATION word problems that students must solve and explain using problem-solving strategies. Each graphic organizer presents students with one real-world word problem. Students must then organize the information they are given, solve, JUSTIFY their work and EXPLAIN their solution. The answer key has the correct solutions as well as sample work. Be sure to download the sample for a full overview of what you get.
How to Use:
Students can use these activities with a partner, as a warm-up , as classwork, homework, in math centers or group work.
Topics Covered:
✔ Graphing Linear Equations
✔ Slope of a Line
✔ Graphing Proportional Relationships
✔ Writing Equations
Common Core Alignment:
* 8.EE.5 - Graph proportional relationships, interpreting the unit rate as the slope of the graph. Compare two different proportional relationships represented in different ways.
* 8.EE.7b - Solve linear equations with rational number coefficients, including equations whose solutions require expanding expressions using the distributive property and collecting like terms.
* 8.EE.8a - Understand that solutions to a system of two linear equations in two variables correspond to points of intersection of their graphs, because points of intersection satisfy both equations simultaneously.
